When Paper-Less is setup to back flush components at the operation it is designed to do the best that it can to relieve inventory without causing negative inventory location balances.
Item Backflush Logic uses the following hierarchy to attempt to backflush items from locations with a balance greater than 0:
1. Default Warehouse/Location defined for the Workcenter
2. Default Warehouse/Location defined for the Manufacturing Order Component Item (MOCI) also known as MODATA in the XA ERP system.
3. Default Warehouse/Location defined for the Item Revision on the Item Admin in the Portal.
4. Default Warehouse/Location defined for the Item on the Item Admin in the Portal.
5. Use Oldest Warehouse/Location with quantity of the component in the Item Balance.
This logic helps Paper-less prevent driving inventory balances negative when not displaying the back flush screen.
